Who We Are

RootOne helps thousands of Jewish teens travel to Israel for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. RootOne is an ambitious initiative, seeded by a generous gift from The Marcus Foundation and powered by The Jewish Education Project

“Teen travel to Israel is a deeply impactful experience that can set a teen on a path for ongoing, meaningful Jewish engagement filled with lifelong friendships”

David Bryfman

CEO, The Jewish Education Project

What We Do

As teens embark on a complex journey of enrolling in college and entering adulthood, solidifying their Jewish identity is critical. The value and impact of Israel summer programs on Jewish teens has been proven to better connect them to their identity and community, as well as increase their confidence and empower them.

RootOne is offering an open RFP for additional Jewish organizations to apply for funding to grow existing teen Israel summer programs or to initiate teen Israel summer programs that they have been incubating. RootOne’s vision is to continue to grow and expand from here, to partner with more organizations to send many more Jewish teens to Israel in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do RootOne Vouchers work?

Teens must first apply to a RootOne-affiliated trip through their trip provider’s application portal. Then, their trip provider sends them a link to a RootOne application. Once their eligibility is confirmed, they must complete pre-trip requirements, including online learning through our portal and a pre and post-trip survey. Then, the Voucher is either deducted from the cost of the trip or reimbursed, depending on the trip provider.

Am I eligible for a RootOne Voucher?

In order to receive a RootOne Voucher, an individual must be a current 9th, 10th or 11th grade Jewish teen, must reside in the United States or Canada and must apply to one of the programs listed under our Find a Trip page.

For summer 2026, current 12th graders are also eligible for RootOne Vouchers.

RootOne Voucher recipients must also complete pre-trip early experience requirements, participate in post-trip engagement opportunities, and sign the required releases.

*Voucher amount varies by trip depending on length and other criteria.
Make sure to confirm total amount with your trip provider.
